There are two different stories in there. The characters, and their voices, are the same. The plots? Not so much. Two wildly different ends of the spectrum.

Where the heck was I going with these? I love them both because they both have nice, big, juicy pluses. The question now becomes can I combine them? Or do I have to go with one or the other? Or do I get a whole new plot?

I had forgotten how much I missed writing.

So a few years back I had a two really good ideas for two books. Worked them over in my head a few times, wrote a few chapters and had them reviewed by a crit group I was in. Today I opened both files – one of them had been updated last in 2005.

One of the stories had been going around and around in my head for a few weeks but it was another one that drew me in when I read what I had written. And it was also the one that has more foundation built.

I’m thinking I’m going to take Tama and Zed’s story out and dust it off a bit. See what comes next.

Holly Lisle is doing a “Write A Book With Me” project that I’ve been following since she started. Maybe it’s time to jump on board.

Today I deleted all my ‘non’ essential apps from Facebook. By non essential I mean the apps that don’t involve any thought whatsoever. The ones that you just click the button like Mafia Wars. The ones that you just buy and sell stuff, like Farmville and Yoville. I kept Lexulous because my favorite girl cousins regularly wipe the floor with me while playing. I also held onto my Event app, WeRead and stuff like pictures and notes.

Facebook has become a huge time sink for me. And I’ve been trying really hard to have more balance in my life. Slowly weeding things out that don’t enrich me and adding back things I’ve backed away from for one reason or another.

Next month I’ll be blogging about the new Wayne Thomas Batson/Christopher Hopper book Curse of the Spider King: The Berinfell Prophecies Series with the CSFF. It’s YA and I don’t read much YA anymore but I do believe in supporting the genre of Christian Science Fiction and Fantasy. Thinking about it, it’s been more than a year since I’ve blogged about a book. I’ve continued reading. Man have I continued reading! But no reviews or blogging. Wow!

Also planning on a return to writing. It is something I’ve been missing deeply and I am kind of surprised that it took me so long to figure out that was something that was missing. There was a novel I was working on well over a year ago and the the story keeps nagging at me, nagging at me. This is the longest something has ever stayed with me so I’m thinking I should stop ignoring it. LOL

Off I go now, to get ready to go walking with a friend. That’s something I’m adding back in too. Spending time with friends. Something I’m starting….exercise. Ick!
