I liked it! First off, I never saw the original V. That was before I was into science fiction/fantasy stuff. A bonus for me is that many of the characters I was introduced to in the first episode were from shows I was a fan of and are either off the air or I can’t watch them. For instance:

Morena Baccarin is Anna, the leader of the Visitors. But I first saw her as Inara Serra on Firefly.

Alan Tudyk is Dale, he was also on Firefly as Hoban ‘Wash’ Washburne.

Elizabeth Mitchell is Erica, an FBI agent in the counter terrorism division. I first saw her as Juliet on Lost.

Joel Gretsch is Father Jack Landry but I first ‘met’ him as Tom Baldwin on the most excellent and deeply missed show The 4400.

The show, according to the Executive Producer Scott Peters, will be character driven. I love character driven shows – hence my addiction to Lost and my almost instant love for the new SG•U Stargate Universe. So because I already knew these actors from other shows I’m already involved. I find it fascinating to watch actors take on new roles, be new people, but still keep a certain ’something’ that makes me feel like I already know them.

V looks to be the sort of show I’m really going to enjoy and I look forward to watching the characters grow and the story develop. The fact that Scott Peters was the creator, writer and director for The 4400; a show I loved helps with the excitement and the anticipation for upcoming episodes of V.
